  The synthesis of benzodicyclicpyrrolidines 7 and 2 of specific stereochemistry such as N-Substituted-2,3-dimethyl-1,4-endo or exo-(3',4'-pyrrolidine)-1,4-dihydronaphthalene is described. These have analgesic activity. The precursors 3, 4, 5, and 6 and a novel Diels-Alder reaction are discussed.
