Chemistry of functionalized thiolates: syntheses and structures of neutral, monomeric [Zn(SC6H4X-4)2(NN)], where X=H, NH2 and OH, and (NN)=nitrogen bases 2,2′-bpy, phen and tmen
摘要:
Six neutral monomers of the type [Zn(SC6H4X-4)(2)(N-N)] (where X = H, NH2, OH; (N-N) = tetramethylethylenediamine (tmen); 2,2'-bipyridyl (bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen)) have been synthesized in quantitative yield by reacting bis(4-substituted benzenethiolato)zinc(II) with an equimolar amount of the dinitrogen bases. The crystal and molecular structures of all the compounds were determined by X-ray crystallography. A simple neutral compound [Zn(SPh)(2)(bpy)] was also prepared for comparison. The compounds show some interesting X-H ... S (where X=O or N) hydrogen bonding pattern in the solid state. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
