    The synthesis of two new poly(amidoamine) dendrimers from first generation modified with 1,8-naphthalimide fluorescent units is described. Their photophysical characteristics have been investigated in organic solvents of different polarity in order to investigate their sensor potential. Selectivity for detection of cuprum cations has been demonstrated. (C) 2013 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
