  Reactions of µ-ethynediyldiplatinum complexes with tetracyanoethylene in refluxing benzene result in the formation of s-cis and s-trans-µ-butadiene-2,3-diyldiplatinum complexes, of which structures are established by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
