    Disclosed are a functional reinforcing filler including inorganic particles surface-modified with an alkenylsilanol obtained by hydrolyzing an alkenylalkoxysilane compound, and a method for preparing the same. Since the disclosed functional reinforcing filler has a functional group having a double bond, it has good reactivity for styrene-butadiene rubber and sulfur. Thus, when used as a functional reinforcing filler in the manufacture of rubber, it allows improvement of physical properties through adjustment of the addition amount of sulfur without additional use of the coupling agent. In addition, because of superior hydrolysis reactivity, the problem of alcohol can be solved and a rubber mixture with long scorch time can be prepared. In particular, when the functional reinforcing filler of the present invention is used in the manufacture of tires, improvement in modulus, tensile strength, rotational resistance and wet traction performance can be expected.

    A vulcanized olefin-based rubber composition is disclosed which is produced by vulcanizing an olefin-based rubber composition with a sulfur-containing substance alone or with a sulfur-containing substance and a vulcanization accelerator in combination. The olefin-based rubber composition is composed of (A) olefin-based rubber composed mainly of ethylene and propylene and (B) aluminium or an aluminium alloy in the form of powder, fiber, or flake, or being composed of (A) olefin-based rubber composed mainly of ethylene and propylene, (B) aluminium or an aluminium alloy in the form of powder, fiber, orflake, and (C) electrically-conductive carbon black, and said sulfur-containing substance being selected from the group consisting of a sulfur-based vulcanizing agent and a sulfur-releasing agent. The composition of this invention is superior in the shielding of electromagnetic waves.

    A scintillation converter for neutron radiography is described, comprising a composition formed of components (A) 100 parts by weight of an olefin rubber made mainly of ethylene and propylene, (B) from 100 to 400 parts by weight of at least one inorganic compound selected from the group consisting of inorganic boron compounds and inorganic lithium compounds, and (C) from 100 to 600 parts by weight of a zinc sulfide-base fluorescent material. This scintillation converter is not only superior in radiation-sensitive performance, but also has high elasticity and superior abrasion resistance.

    The present invention relates to a dip molding having a low surface resistivity, the dip molding having a surface resistivity that is lower than that of a conventional product even after being washed with superpure water. The dip molding of the present invention has a surface resistivity, measured under an atmosphere of 20°C and a relative humidity of 65%, of 107 to 1010 Ω/square. Since the dip molding of the present invention has a low surface resistivity, it can suitably be used as a glove for precision electronic component production and semiconductor component production.
