Synthesis, crystal structure and characterization of lead(II) coordination polymers with tetrafluorosuccinate/hexafluoroglutarate

Two complexes, [Pb(TFSA)(wphen)](n) (1) and [Pb(HFGA)(phen)](n) (2) (TFSA=tetrafluorosuccinate, HFGA = hexafluoroglutarate, and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The 1 shows that the 2-D structure with six normal Pb-ligand bonds and one weak Pb center dot center dot center dot O bond, and then is further connected by C-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot F hydrogen bonds, forming a 3-D network. The 2 has 1-D structure with four normal Pb-ligand bonds that further produces a 3-D network by C-H center dot center dot center dot O, C-H center dot center dot center dot F hydrogen bonds, and weak Pb center dot center dot center dot O bonds.
