  3-苯甲酰基-2-甲氧基-3 H - a庚因（IIa）在甲醇中的光解反应生成7-苯甲酰基-2-甲氧基-3-氮杂双环[2.1.0]庚-2,4-二烯（IVa），2-甲氧基-3-苯基酰基吡啶（Va）和2-苯基呋喃[2.3- b ]-吡啶（VIa）。该反应延长至3-苯甲酰基-5-氯-和-6-氯-2-甲氧基-3H-氮杂（IIB，c）和3-丙酮基-2-甲氧基-3- ħ吖庚因（IID）其中后行类似分别转化为相应的吡啶衍生物（Vb-d和VIb）。IIa–c的热解得到相似的吡啶衍生物。2-氨基-3-酰基-3 H-氮杂（IIIa–c）的热重排得到吡咯并[2.3- b]吡啶衍生物（XIa–c）或2-二乙氨基-3-苯并吡啶（XIIa，b）。提出了这些环收缩的尝试性机制。
