Bis-chelates of Co(II) Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with the thiol form of methylisopropylketone and methylisobutylketone thiosemicarbazones have been synthesized and characterised by analytical, conductivity, magnetic moment, infrared, electronic and ESR spectral studies. Based on analytical data the stoichiometry of the complexes has been found to be 1:2. The conductivity data show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes, The Co(II) complexes were found to have polymeric octahedral geometry. The Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes are diamagnetic and were found to have square-planar and tetrahedral geometry, respectively. Square-planar geometry has also been suggested for the paramagnetic Cu(II) complexes.
