A copper(II)-catalyzed multi-component one-pot approach for the synthesis of 1,3-oxazines at roomtemperature is reported here. Methanol is used as the solvent as well as the carbon source. The methylene carbon of the oxazine product comes from methanol via formaldehyde. tert -Butyl hydroperoxide is used as the oxidant.
