Bis(polyfluoroalkoxy) sulfonylamines were prepared by the reaction of HN(SO2Cl)(2) with polyfluoroalkyl alcohols, RfOH(R-f=CF3CH2, CF3CF2CH2, HCF2CF2CH2 (CF3)(2) etc.). An extension of this reaction to 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoro-1,6-hexanediol has provided a polymeric compound (M-n=3400 and M-w=4300). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
