Abstract Photosensitized oxygenation of extremely stable P-ylides, dimethyl fluorenylidenetributyl-and triphenylphosphoranylidenesuccinate, afforded dimethyl fluorenylideneoxalacetate in good yield, when 9-fluorenone was employed as a photosensitizer.
