Polymers of structure:
in which,
n is 0 or 1;
m is 1 to 20;
Z is H or a group
X is 0, S, SO₂, amido or sulphonamido;
R¹ and R² are the same or different and are each C₁₋₄alkyl;
R³ is C₁₋₂₀alkyl; or R¹ to R³ together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a ring, optionally containing one or more further heteroatoms and optionally substituted by a C₁₋₄alkyl group;
a, b and c are numbers which indicate the relative molar percentages of the units present in a random distribution in said polymer, (b) being from about 0.5 to about 10 molar percent, and (c) being from about 30 to about 99 molar percent; and
Y⊖ is a physiologically acceptable counter ion,
processes for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in therapy as cholesterol lowering agents.
