A series of seven-coordinate molybdenum(II) complexescontaining carbonyl, triphenylphosphine, bromide and/or O-donor and S-donor anionic bidentateligands have been prepared in high yield. The synthesis involves the reaction of the six-coordinate complex Mo(CO)2(PPh3)2Br2 with the sodium salt of the appropriate ligand, in dichloromethane/methanol solution. Abstract Reaction of the dichlorocomplex [Ni(Cl)2(PMe3)2] with [MgCH(SiMe3)2}Cl] gave the dimer [NiCH(SiMe3)2}(μ-Cl)(PMe3)]2 (1), which, in the presence of Me2 PCH2CH2PMe2 (dmpe) and PMe3, afforded the monomeric alkyls [NiCH (SiMe3)2}Cl(dmpe)] (2), and [NiCH(SiMe3)2}CI(PMe3)2] (3), respectively.
