  This invention provides certain sulfonamidoquinoxaline derivatives of formula (I) and methods for using them in the treatment of susceptible neoplasms in mammals. Also provided are certain novel pharmaceutical formulations employing these sulfonamidoquinoxaline derivatives, in combination with a carrier, diluent or excipient. wherein:    A is phenyl, naphthyl, heterocyclic, or unsaturated heterocyclic,      said groups being optionally substituted with one or more halo, trifluoromethyl, C₁-C₆ alkyl, or -NR³R⁴,        where R³ and R⁴ are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C₁-C₆ alkyl;    R¹ and R² are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, trifluoromethyl, halo, and C₁-C₆ alkyl, provided that R¹ and R² cannot both be hydrogen; provided that when one of R¹ and R² is hydrogen and the other is halo, R³ and R⁴ cannot both be hydrogen; or a tautomer or salt or solvate thereof.
