Reactions of (Me2N)xCl3−xP = S (x = 1, 2 and 3) with the metal halides MCln, (n = 3), M = Ti, V, Cr, Al, Sb, Au, B; (n = 4), Ti, Zr, Hf, Sn, Ge; (n = 5), Sb have been investigated. Spectral characterisation (IR, 1H and 31P NMR) of the S-bonded adducts isolated, i.e. MCl4·L, M = Sn, L = (Me2N)3PS; MCl4·2L, M = Sn, Zr, Hf, L = (Me2N)3PS and (Me2N)2CIPS; MCl5·L, M = Sb, L = (Me2N)3PS, (Me2N)2CIPS and
