Its structure was deduced as a hybrid composed of a pseudomonic acid analogue and holothin by NMR spectral analysis and chemical degradation. Antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria of thiomarinol was stronger than both of pseudomonic acids and pyrrothine antibiotics
