摘要:
The effect of nifedipine on both alkaloid accumulation and calcium uptake in Catharanthus roseus cell cultures was investigated. It was shown that nifedipine inhibited ajmalicine accumulation through a mechanism other than blocking of the calcium channel uptake. Moreover, nifedipine was biotransformed into its 4-(2'-aminophenyl)-pyridine derivative.
