Abstract New vanadyl(IV) complexes of tetradentate Schiff-base dianions containing one, two or three carbon atoms between the two iminato-nitrogen atoms are described. The compounds are either mononuclear or polymeric, as shown by the value of v(V=O), and depending upon the Schiff-base dianion.
