  Novel benzothiazepine derivatives of the formula wherein R1 and R2 are each lower alkyl, R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or hydroxy-lower alkyl, R4 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio or nitro, and A is lower alkylene and processes for preparing same are disclosed.
