Iodoazidation of alkenes was carried out by using iodine pentafluoride–pyridine–hydrogen fluoride and trimethylsilyl azide. In the reactions of terminal alkenes, anti-Markovnikov products were formed selectively. Cyclohexene gave a mixture of cis- and trans-adducts.
