  A copolymer comprising (a) a monomer having a C7 to C21 perfluoralkyl or perfluoralkenyl group at one end of the molecule and an ethylenically unsaturated group at the other end of the molecule, and (b( a monomer having a photosensitive group, e.g. an azidobenzoyloxy group, cinnamoyloxy group, benzoylphenyl group or a,#- unsaturated ketone group. The copolymer has an excellent photosensitivity and excellent water and oil repellent properties, and is useful for various purposes, e.g. as a photosensitive material for dry offset printing plate or resist and as a photo-curable, water and oil repelling coating material.

  A cured resin product obtained by mixing (A) a compound having an addition-polymerizable group and capable of yielding a thermoplastic resin by its polymerization and (B) a thermosetting resin to form a uniform solution or dispersion and then curing the component (B) while simultaneously polymerizing the component (A), a process for producing the same, a resin composition, and the use of the same. As compound A olefinically unsaturated monomers like styrene, acrylonitrile or (meth)acrylates, particularly perfluoroalkyl(meth)acrylates, are preferred. The thermosetting resin is for example a cyanate, maleimide, phenolic or preferably epoxy resin in combination with a suitable curing agent. The compositions are used for water repellent coatings or for sealing semiconductor elements.

  A process is provided for making a reactive-block-copolymer chain extender and for using the chain extender to couple polymer chains together for increasing the average molecular weight of the polymer chains. The chain extender can be reacted with polymeric materials that have functional groups and low molecular weight to couple polymer chains together and increase the average molecular weight, thereby increasing intrinsic viscosity and improving properties of the polymeric material. The chain extender is particularly useful for recycling polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and other polymers with functional groups and is also useful as a surface modifier and as a compatibilizer for polymeric materials that do not have reactive functional groups, such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene.
