Let there be light: A heterogeneous photocatalytic system based on easily recyclable TiO2 or ZnO allows cross dehydrogenative coupling reactions of tertiary amines. A visible light mediated, carbonâphosphorus bond forming reaction has been developed. With the use of a readily available photoredox catalyst, α-amino phosphonates were obtained in good yields under mild reaction conditions.
