The present invention provides a cross-linking agent capable of preventing formation of scum from a bottom anti-reflective coating, and also provides a composition for forming a bottom anti-reflection coating containing the agent. The cross-linking agent is a nitrogen-containing aromatic compound having at least one vinyloxy group or N-methoxymethylamide group, and the composition contains the cross-linking agent. The cross-linking agent of the formula (1) can be produced by reaction of a nitrogen-containing aromatic compound, a halogen compound having a vinyloxy group or N-methoxymethylamide group and a basic compound.

A sulfonium salt is provided that has a cation represented by Formula (II)
(R
1′
to R
13′
in Formula (II) independently denote a hydrogen atom or a substituent, and may be bonded to each other to form a ring, provided that at least one of R
1′

denotes a halogen atom or a haloalkyl group). There are also provided a curable composition that includes the sulfonium salt, and an ink composition that includes the curabie composition. Furthermore, there are also provided an inkjet recording method employing the ink composition, and a process for producing a lithographic printing plate, the process including discharging the ink composition onto a hydrophilic support. A printed material and a lithographic printing plate thus obtained are also included in the present invention.

The invention provides a radiation-curable polymerizable composition of the invention having (a) a hindered amine compound having no nucleophilic moiety in a molecule, (b) a photo-acid generating agent and (c) a cationic polymerizable monomer. The invention further provides an ink composition formed of the radiation-curable polymerizable composition, a method for ink jet recording having: ejecting the ink composition onto a recording medium by using an ink jet recording apparatus and irradiating the ejected ink composition so as to cure the ink composition, and a printed material obtained thereby. The invention further provides a method for forming a planographic printing plate having: ejecting the ink composition onto a hydrophilic recording medium by using an ink jet recording apparatus; and irradiating the ejected ink composition so as to cure the ink composition for forming a hydrophobic region, and a planographic printing plate obtained thereby.
Provided is a photosensitive composition which can be cured with low energy consumption, even when a substance (such as a colorant) that attenuates or shades an illumination light is contained in a high concentration or even when the photosensitive composition is in the form of a thick film. Specifically provided is a photosensitive composition which comprises the following four components: (1) a radical initiator (A); (2) an acid generator (B) or a base generator (C); (3) a polymerizable substance (D); and (4) a colorant (E), a metal oxide powder (F), or a metal powder (G). Further, the photosensitive composition is characterized in that the radical initiator (A), the acid generator (B), and/or the base generator (C) generates an active species (H) through irradiation with an active ray of light; the active species (H) reacts the radical initiator (A), the acid generator (B), or the base generator (C) to form another species (I); and thus the polymerization of the polymerizable substance (D) by means of the active species (I) proceeds, said active species (H) or (I) being an acid or a base.
