The present invention relates to novel hydroxyethylamine compounds having Asp2 (β-secretase, BACE1 or Memapsin) inhibitory activity, processes for their preparation, to compositions containing them and to their use in the treatment of diseases characterised by elevated β-amyloid levels or β-amyloid deposits, particularly Alzheimer's disease.
A process for disproportionating silanes, which comprises contacting a silane having at least one Si-H bond represented by the general formula
wherein R represents an alkyl or aryl group, X represents a halogen atom or an alkoxy group, ℓis 0, 1 or 2, and m is 1, 2 or 3 and ℓ+m is 1, 2 or 3, and when fis 2, R's may be identical or different, and when ℓ+m is 1 or 2, X's may be identical or different, with a reaction product of a strong acid-type cation exchange resin with an amine.
The rust preventive oil composition according to the present invention contains at least one kind of sulfonate of 1 to 10% by mass selected from a group consisting of an alkaline metal sulfonate, an alkaline earth-metal sulfonate (with the exception of barium sulfonate) and an amine sulfonate based on the total weight of the composition in at least one kind of base oil selected from a group consisting of a mineral oil and a synthetic oil, and the contents of barium, zinc, chlorine and lead are each 1000ppm by mass or less based on the total weight by element conversion of the composition, and the content of a compound having a group represented by the following general formula (1):

A lubricative composition for industrial machinery and equipment which comprises a base oil selected from among mineral oils, fats and oils, synthetic oils and mixture of two or more of them, and at least one additive selected from among the following components (A) to (D): component (A): (A-1) a phosphorus-containing carboxylic acid and/or (A-2) a thiophosphoric ester, component (B): a dispersant viscosity index improver, component (C): (C-1) a specific amidocarboxylic acid compound and/or (C-2) a specific carboxylic acid compound, and component (D): an ester oiliness improver. The composition is favorable as a lubricating oil composition and useful as a gear oil composition, a lubricating oil composition for paper machines or a lubricating oil composition for slide guides, a hydraulic oil, or the like.
The present invention provides a refrigerating machine oil, a compressor oil composition, a hydraulic oil composition, a metalworking oil composition, a heat treating oil composition, a lubricating oil composition for machine tools and a lubricating oil composition which comprise a lubricating oil base oil having %CA of not more than 2, %CP/%CN of not less than 6 and an iodine value of not more than 2.5.
