  A facile synthesis of benzofulvenes was carried out starting from the Morita–Baylis–Hillman adducts of 2-bromobenzaldehyde. The synthesis was carried out via the sequential bromination, Wittig reaction with aldehyde, and Pd-catalyzed intramolecular Mizoroki–Heck reaction.
