The eight new diamide - diester macrocycles 8–15 possessing pyridine / thioether / ether as ligatingunits have been prepared by dehydrochlorination of appropriate diacid dichlorides and diols (4 – 7) obtained by aminolysis of diethyl pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate / diethyl thiodiglycolate with aminoalcohols. Amongst these macrocycles, the substituted ones elaborate mixtures of three dimensional cisoid
