  Tetraisopropyl 1,1-cyclopropanediylbis(phosphonate) has been synthesised by an intramolecular cyclisation of the thallium(I) salt of tetraisopropyl (3-iodo-1,1-propanediyl)bis(phosphonate). Dealkylation of the tetraisopropyl ester gave 1, 1-cyclopropanediyl-bis(phosphonic acid) in good yield.
