Herein, we report an electrochemical method for the synthesis of benzisothiazol-3(2H)-ones from 2-mercaptobenzamides. The electrochemical reaction proceeds through intramolecular NH/SH coupling cyclization reaction by generating H2 as the nonhazardous side product.
