short and high yielding synthetic route to the carbazole alkaloid euchrestifoline is presented. The key steps are an iron‐catalyzed Wacker‐type oxidation of a chromene derivative to afford the corresponding chroman‐4‐one moiety and two palladium‐catalyzed coupling reactions to furnish the carbazole framework. The structure of euchrestifoline was confirmed by X‐ray analysis.
