  [EN] The present invention provides an improved process that is suitable for large-scale preparation of pure cefotetan disodium (1b) that comprises of one pot process for deprotection of both tert-butyl and benzhydryl ester groups of cefotetan diester (1c) with aluminium trichloride-anisole in dichloromethane as solvent to give cefotetan diacid (1a) followed by its purification. The present invention further describes two different methods to obtain pure cefotetan diacid (1a). The first method involves treatment of crude cefotetan diacid (1a) with acetyl chloride and potassium iodide in acetone while second method involves carrying out column chromatography of aqueous solution of cefotetan diacid (1a) over neutral resin.
  [FR] La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré approprié pour la préparation à grande échelle de céfotétane disodique pur (1b) consistant en un procédé monotope de déprotection des groupes tert-butyle et benzhydryle ester de diester de céfotétane (1c) avec du trichlorure d'aluminium-anisole dans du dichlorométhane comme solvant pour donner du diacide de céfotétane (1a) suivi de sa purification. La présente invention concerne en outre deux procédés différents pour obtenir du diacide de céfotétane pur (1a). Le premier procédé consiste à traiter un diacide de céfotétane brut (1a) avec du chlorure d'acétyle et de l'iodure de potassium dans de l'acétone, le second procédé constant à réaliser une chromatographie en colonne d'une solution aqueuse de diacide de céfotétane (1a) sur une résine neutre.
