nucleophile was developed. The reaction utilizes inexpensive and readily available (CH3CN)3W(CO)3 as a precatalyst and proceeds at 60 °C temperature in the presence of 2,2′-bipyridine and its derivatives as ligand. The synthetic utility of allylic sulfones as electrophile was further demonstrated through Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling as showcased by the formal synthesis of (±)-hinokiresinol.

N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) were found to be suitable ligands in Ir-catalyzed intermolecular allylic alkylation reaction. In the presence of a catalyst derived from [Ir(dncot)Cl]2 (dncot = dinaphthocyclooctatetraene) and triazolium salt L7, the alkylation products from the reaction of aryl allyl carbonates with sodium dialkyl malonates could be obtained in 85–99% yields favoring the formation of

We describe herein the development of the first iridium‐catalyzed allylic substitution using arylzinc nucleophiles. High enantioselectivities were obtained from the reactions, which used commercially available Grignardreagents as the starting materials. This methodology was also shown to be compatible with halogen/metal exchange reactions. Its synthetic potential is demonstrated by its application
asymmetric allylic substitution cascade reaction, using α-(pyridin-1-yl)-acetamides (formed in situ) as nucleophiles, has been developed, generating chiral piperidine-containing aminoacid derivatives via a one-pot procedure in high yields and with up to 96% ee. The products can be easily converted into potential bioactive compounds, unnatural chiralaminoacids and dipeptides.
