Synthesis of diversely substituted adamantanes as a new class of antimicrobial agent

4,8,9,10-tetraaryl-1,3-diazatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decan-6-ones are synthesized and reduced into its 4,8,9,10-tetraaryl-1,3-diazatricyclo[3.3.1.1]decan-6-ols (6a–m) with NaBH4 in methanol (2v), benzene (1v) mixture as the solvent system. These compounds are characterized using spectral data such as IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR data. These synthesized compounds are screened for their antimicrobial activity and were found to be effective anti-bacterials.
合成了4,8,9,10-四芳基-1,3-二氮三环[3.3.1.1]癸酸-6-酮,并将其还原为4,8,9,10-四芳基-1,3-二氮三环[3.3.1.1]癸酸-6-醇(6a–m),使用NaBH4在甲醇(2v)和苯(1v)混合溶剂系统中进行。这些化合物通过红外光谱、1H-NMR和13C-NMR等光谱数据进行表征。这些合成的化合物经过抗菌活性筛选,发现它们是有效的抗菌剂。
