cations of the iron chiral auxiliary [(η5-C5H5)Fe(CO)(PPh3)C(OMe)CHCHR]+ proceeded with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivity. The resultant methoxyvinyl complexes were transformed into the corresponding iron acyl complexes following a sequence of protonation and demethylation. The overall transformation yields iron acyl complexes of opposite relative configuration to those which result from the conjugate
