We have developed a Mizoroki–Heck reaction of nitroarenes with alkenes under palladium catalysis. The use of a Pd/BrettPhos catalyst promoted the alkenylation, whereas other catalysts led to a decrease in the product yield. ABSTRACT Efficient Mizoroki–Heck couplings were obtained using a very easily synthesizable palladium(II) complex of hemilabile N–O ligand (picolinate), with high turnover frequencies up to >10,000 h−1, in just 15 min, with high selectivity of >99% to the desired products. Wide applicability of the simple-looking palladium complex catalyst was established with differently functionalized substrates.

[PdC6H2(CH2CH2NH2)-(OMe)2,3,4} (μ-Br)]2 complex of homoveratrylamine was synthesized and its application in the Heck coupling reaction was studied. This complex had been demonstrated to be active and efficientcatalyst for the Heck reaction of aryl iodides, bromides and even chlorides. The cross-coupled products were produced in excellent yields in a short reaction time using catalytic amounts of [PdC6H2(CH2CH2NH2)-(OMe)2

NNN pincer palladium(II) complexes with N-(2-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)phenyl)-picolinamide ligands: synthesis, characterization, and application to heck coupling reaction
picolinamide ligands 3a–c and 5a–f have been easily prepared from commercially available 2-pyridinecarboxylic acid. Reaction of 3a–c and 5a–f with PdCl2 in toluene in the presence of triethylamine gave the nine NNN pincer Pd(II) complexes 6a–i in 15–91% yields. All the new compounds were characterized by 1H, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. In addition, the molecular structures of complexes 6a and 6i have
