  Suggested is a cupuassu fatty acid amidoamine according to formula (I) in which R1CO stands for a mixture of acyl radicals having 12 to 22 carbon atoms; R2 and R3 independently from each other represent hydrogen or alkyl radicals having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; A stands for a linear or branched alkylene radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms on condition that the mixture of acyl radicals represent the fatty acid spectrum of cupuassu butter (Theobroma grandiflorum). The invention also encompasses the respective quaternization products and the mixtures of said quaternized and said non-quaternized amidoamines.
