  A laundry treatment composition comprising from about 1 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of an asymmetric di-hydrocarbyl quaternary ammonium compound comprising the structure: wherein R 1 comprises a C 12 to C 22 hydrocarbyl chain, wherein R 2 comprises a C 6 to C 12 hydrocarbyl chain, which can be branched, wherein R 1 has at least two more carbon atoms in the hydrocarbyl chain than R 2 , wherein R 3 and R 4 are individually selected from the group consisting of C 1 -C 4 hydrocarbyl, C 1 -C 4 hydroxy hydrocarbyl, benzyl, —(C 2 H 4 O) X H where x has a value from about 1 to about 10, and mixtures thereof, and wherein X − is a anion; and from about 1 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of an anionic surfactant, wherein the laundry treatment composition provides sufficient softness and anti-static benefits without minimized formation of non-soluble flocs.
