    The invention concerns a method for preparing organic-inorganic hybrid materials with controlled porosity and functionality, comprising hydrolysis and condensation polymerisation of at least a compound of formula (I): Z—R 1 —Si(OR)(OR′)(OR″), wherein: Z represents either an atom selected among chlorine, bromine or iodine atoms, or an amino or phosphino group; R, R′ and R″, independently of one another, represent an alkyl radical comprising on to four carbon atoms; R 1 represents a divalent radical derived from an aliphatic hydrocarbon chain comprising 1 to 30 carbon atoms, wherein are optionally interspersed one or several arylene; —O—, —S—, —O—C(═O), —N(R 6 )—C(═O)— or N(R 6 ), with at least an alkaline or alkaline-earth silicate of (II) in a mol ratio (I)/(II)=1/9 in the presence of at least a non-ionic surfactant in micellar concentration, to form a mesoporous silica represented by formula (III): Z—R 1 —SiO 1,5 9 SiO 2 , whereon is then anchored an equivalent of an organic compound, represented by (&Dgr;)N—H, comprising at least a —NH— group capable of reacting with the function Z, to form a functionalised mesoporous silica represented by formula (IV): (&Dgr;)N—R—SiO 1,5 9 SiO 2 , which is optionally complexed with a metallic carbon to form an organometallic complex (V). The invention also concerns the products of formulae (IV) and (V) and their use for separating gases.

    The present invention provides an LFA-1 inhibitor comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyamines represented by general formula (1) and pharmaceutical acceptable salts thereof: NH 2 —(CH 2 )m1-(NH)p1-(CH 2 )m2-(NH)p2-(CH 2 )m3-(NH)p3-(CH 2 )m4-(NH)p4-(CH 2 )m5-NH 2 (1), wherein at least two of m1 to m5 exceed 0, each of m1 to m5 is independently an integer of 0 to 7, the sum of m1+m2+m3+m4+m5 is 2 or more but less than 18, at least one of p1, p2, p3 and p4 is 1, and each of others independently represents 0 or 1. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition containing the LFA-1 inhibitor and a method for the inhibition or the treatment of diseases.

The invention also concerns the use of these materials to separate gases.
