SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COPPER ASCORBATE
摘要:
The preparation of copper ascorbate in CH,Cl, is described. The reaction between copper(II) methoxide and L-ascorbic acid in the presence of N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) and under strictly anaerobic conditions leads to the formation of a stable Cu(Il)-ascorbate complex. No redox reaction takes place. Spectroscopic evidence suggest that the compound is polymeric where Cu(II) is chelated by the enolic oxygens of one ascorbate unit and the side chain alcoholic oxygens of another.
The disclosure concerns a toothpaste having antimicrobial activity packaged in a closed container comprising water, an ascorbic acid compound consisting of ascorbic acid, an ascorbic acid salt or an ascorbic acid ester and a copper catalyst for the auto-oxidation of the ascorbic acid compound during use of the toothpaste.
An oral composition is provided having exceptional anti-plaque action, the composition comprising a bicarbonate salt, a copper compound and a complexing agent to stabilize the copper.
