Hydroformylation and Tsuji–Trost reactions were efficiently performed in low melting mixtures (LMMs) allowing the easy recyclability of the catalytic system.
The masstransfer properties of mono‐ and ditopic β‐cyclodextrin‐based receptors have been evaluated in a biphasic palladium‐catalyzed Tsuji–Trost reaction and compared to one of the bestmass‐transferpromoters, namely the randomly methylated β‐cyclodextrin. While monotopic receptors appeared to be poor mass‐transferpromoters of long alkyl chain allyl carbonates or urethanes, cooperative effects

A novel process for the removal of an allylic group in an allylic ester or of an allylic-oxycarbonyl group in an allylic carbonate or carbamate is disclosed allowing very mild reaction conditions. The process is effected by reacting a solution of the allylic ester, carbonate or carbamate in an organic, aprotic solvent in the presence of a catalytic amount of an organic-soluble palladium complex having a coordinating phosphine ligand with a carboxylic acid having from five to eighteen carbon atoms or an alkali metal salt thereof or with sodiumcyanoborohydride or sodiumborohydride.
