The invention relates to chemical compounds of the formula (I): or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which possess B Raf inhibitory activity and are accordingly useful for their anti cancer activity and thus in methods of treatment of the human or animal body. The invention also relates to processes for the manufacture of said chemical compounds, to pharmaceutical compositions containing them and to their use in the manufacture of medicaments of use in the production of an anti-cancer effect in a warm blooded animal such as man.
A process for producing a cyanobenzaldehyde compound which comprises using an oxidizing agent to convert the aminomethyl group of a cyanobenzylamine compound to an aldehyde group without impairing the cyano group; a process for producing a cyanobenzoyl halide compound which comprises converting the aldehyde group of a cyanobenzaldehyde compound to an acid halide group without impairing the cyano group; and a process for producing a cyanobenzoic acid compound which comprises reacting a cyanobenzaldehyde compound with a hypohalogenous acid. The cyanophenyl derivatives, useful as intermediates for medicines, agricultural chemicals, liquid crystals, functional high-molecular monomers, etc., can be efficiently produced from easily available materials.
The invention relates to (1) a process for producing a cyanobenzaldehyde compound by converting the aminomethyl group in a cyanobenzylamine compound into an aldehyde group using an oxidizing agent without impairing the cyano group, to (2) a process for producing a cyanobenzoyl halide compound by converting the aldehyde group in a cyanobenzaldehyde compound into an acid halide group without impairing the cyano group, and to (3) a process for producing a cyanobenzoic acid compound by reacting a cyanobenzaldehyde compound with a hypohalogenous compound.
According to the present invention, cyanophenyl derivatives that are useful as an intermediate of medical preparations, agricultural chemicals, liquid crystals, functional high molecular monomers and the like can be produced efficiently from raw materials that are obtained without difficulty.
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for removing soils, e.g., thermally degraded food soils, from surfaces. The cleaning compositions of the present invention can be activated using heat and/or an activator complex to generate oxygen gas in situ on and in the soil to be removed. Surfaces suitable for cleaning using the compositions and methods of the present invention include any surface that can be heated during use and/or cleaning, e.g., smokers, ovens, fryers.
