Synthesis, characterization, antioxidant, cytotoxic, and DNA cleavage studies of ruthenium(III) complexes containing N-substituted thiosemicarbazone/semicarbazone

The free radical scavenging ability, assessed by antioxidant assays involving DPPH and hydroxyl radicals, showed that the complexes possess excellent radical scavenging properties. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the complexes against MCF-7 and A431 cell lines was assayed which showed that the ruthenium(III) complexes exhibited effective cytotoxic activity
