    Process for preparation of MK-7 type of vitamin K2 is characterized by attaching hexaprenyl chain of “all-trans” configuration to monoprenyl derivative of menadiol following “1+6” synthetic strategy. According to the invention, a-sulfonyl carbanion generated in situ from the protected monoprenyl menadiol of the formula (II), wherein R 1 represents C 1-3 -alkyl group, is reacted with hexaprenyl halide of the formula (VII), wherein X represents halogen atom, preferably bromine, both Z′ and Z′ represent H or one of Z′ and Z″ represents H and the other represents phenylsulfonyl group —SO 2 Ph in the alkylation reaction. The hexaprenyl halide of formula (VII) is obtained by coupling two triprenyl units in alkylation reaction, with or without separation of the intermediates.

    The invention relates to a method for preparing a hard film or coating from a composition based on monomers, oligomers and/or polymers capable of being involved in cationic polymerization and/or crosslinking reactions, comprising reactive functional radicals capable of forming intra-chain and inter-chain bridges, so as to obtain a polymerized and/or crosslinked film, coating or bulk (for example composite) material which has a certain level of hardness and a certain level of mechanical strength. The initiator system for polymerization and/or crosslinking, formed by an iodonium borate photoinitiator and by a photosensitizer chosen from di-anthracene-ethers, di-naphthalene-ethers and/or di-benzene-ethers, makes it possible to use a smaller amount of iodonium borate compared with the known systems, for an equivalent efficiency and with an acceptable odour being given off, in particular after polymerization/crosslinking.

    A conventional polymerization inhibitor is for example an agent to scavenge radicals generated during storage of a radical polymerizable compound and used to stably handle the radical polymerizable compound, but is unnecessary when the radical polymerizable compound is to be subjected to radical polymerization reaction, and is preferably removed at the time of the radical polymerization reaction. The object of the present invention is to obviate inconvenience of removing the polymerization inhibitor at the time of radical polymerization. The radical polymerization control agent contained in a radical polymerizable composition of the present invention functions as a radical polymerization inhibitor for example stored in a dark place, but loses its radical polymerization inhibiting effect when polymerization is initiated while being irradiated with light at a certain specific wavelength at the time of polymerization. Thus, radical polymerization of the radical polymerizable compound is easily initiated without increasing the amount of a radical polymerization initiator. That is, the radical polymerization control agent of the present invention is a radical polymerization control agent which is a corn pound having an effect to inhibit radical polymerization of a radical polymerizable compound and which loses the radical polymerization inhibiting effect under irradiation with light rays containing light within a wavelength range of from 300 nm to 500 nm.
