    The present invention relates to a process for preparing 1,1-disubstituted ethylene monomers having general formula (I) from a compound of general formula (II) and an active methylene compound of general formula (III) using a catalytic amount of an ammonium or iminium salt in homogeneous phase or supported on a solid substrate. Said process allows the direct synthesis of the monomers and finds application in the preparation of a wide variety of monomers. Specifically, it provides a method for manufacturing stabilized polyacetal resin having the step of applying heat treatment to a polyacetal resin having an unstable terminal group in the presence of an agent to decompose the unstable terminal group, which agent is composed of a heterocyclic quaternary ammonium salt, thus decreasing the quantity of the unstable terminal group.

    Simple and efficient methods have been developed to obtain cyanomethylamines and azidomethylamines using reactions of methoxymethylamines with TMSCN and TMSN3, respectively. In the case of dimethylformamide dimethylacetal, only one MeO group was substituted with CN, and an unexpected direction of the subsequent azidation was found. Adducts of azidomethylamines with DMAD were studied, and the base-catalyzed isomerization of symmetric triazoles into non-symmetric ones was revealed.

    Three-component condensation of piperazine with formaldehyde and aliphatic alcohols was employed for elucidating the possibility to synthesize N,N'-bis(alkyloxymethyl)piperazines. The structure of the resulting compounds was identified by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The antimicrobial properties of these compounds were examined with respect to microorganisms that infect cooling lubricants and lubricant oils.
