synthesis of vinylogous thioesters was developed. 1-Alkylthio-3-silyloxybutadienes were then produced in high yields from the corresponding vinylogous thioesters. These dienes were highly reactive in Diels−Alderreactions, affording the cycloadducts in high endo selectivity under mild conditions.
