It was discovered that phosphazenyl phosphines (PAPs) can be stronger P‐superbases than the corresponding Schwesinger type phosphazene N‐superbases. A simple synthetic access to this class of PR3 derivatives including their homologization is described. The invention provides new compounds, phosphazenyl phosphines, metal complexes of phosphazenyl phosphines and manufacturing and usage of phosphazenyl phosphines as well as of their metal complexes. The new compounds are stronger P-superbases than the corresponding Schwesinger type phosphazene N-superbases and can be used as catalysts for chemical reactions.
