    The invention provides a method for producing an epoxy compound by hydrogen peroxide using an organic compound having a carbon-carbon double bond as a raw material, wherein a by-product is suppressed from being generated and the epoxy compound is produced in a high yield. In particular, the invention provides a method for producing an epoxy compound involving oxidizing a carbon-carbon double bond in an organic compound with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the catalyst comprises a tungsten compound; a phosphoric acid, a phosphonic acid or salts thereof; and an onium salt having an alkyl sulfate ion represented by formula (I) as an anion: wherein R 1 is a linear or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbons, which may be substituted with 1 to 3 phenyl groups.

    Disclosed are: a method for production of an organic-inorganic complex by intercalation of a positively charged organic compound between layers of a non-swellable layered silicate which is believed to be difficult to achieve under convenient conditions; the organic-inorganic complex; and a layered silicate/polymer nanocomposite using the organic-inorganic complex. The method comprises: step (I) wherein a hydrous layered silicate having a hydroxyl group in its crystalline structure is heat-treated at a temperature not higher than 1,200° C. and lower than the phase transition temperature of the silicate to dehydrate the silicate; and step (II) wherein the dehydrated layered silicate is contacted with an aqueous solution of a positively charged organic compound.

    A low concentration aqueous solution of the agent for processing synthetic fibers is produced by preparing an acidic alkyl phosphate which is solid at room temperature and gradually adding this prepared acidic alkyl phosphate with stirring to an aqueous solution containing potassium hydroxide in an amount to partially neutralize this added acidic alkyl phosphate to obtain a 0.1-10 weight % low concentration aqueous solution of the agent for processing synthetic fibers containing potassium alkyl phosphate.

The method of producing the heat-expandable microspheres comprises the steps of dispersing an oily mixture containing a polymerizable component and the blowing agent in an aqueous dispersing medium containing a specific water-soluble compound and polymerizing the polymerizable component contained in the oily mixture.
