The onium salt of the present invention contains predetermined compound A represented by the general formula (1). The composition of the present invention contains the onium salt of the present invention, and an onium salt containing predetermined compound B represented by the general formula (2). The onium salt and the composition of the present invention exert well-balanced excellent physical properties in terms of cold curing properties, storage stability, thermal shock resistance after curing, and moisture resistance.

A cationically polymerizable organic material composition essentially comprising a cationically polymerizable organic material and a cationic polymerization catalyst, which further contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of onium salts each having a nucleophilic counter anion represented by halide, perchlorate, alkylsulfate or p-toluenesulfonate ion and salts of iron-aromatic compounds represented by formula (I). The composition is cured by radiation and/or heating and has an excellent storage stability and a long pot life at room temperature out of contact with light.
The onium salt of the present invention contains predetermined compound A represented by the general formula (1). The composition of the present invention contains the onium salt of the present invention, and an onium salt containing predetermined compound B represented by the general formula (2).
