    A novel polyoxygenated 5 beta-cholestane diglycoside, named galtonioside A, was isolated from the bulbs of Galtonia candicans by way of a cytotoxicity-guided fractionation procedure against HL-60 leukemia cells. Galtonioside A showed differential cytotoxicity in the Jpn. Fdn. for Cancer Res. 38 cell line assay. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
