    Abstract Small-ring cyclic ketones react with excess PCl5 in CCl4 (reflux, 1-3 d) to give the corresponding 1,1,2-trichlorocycloalkanes, but react with PBr5 to give ketones brominated in the α-positions.

    A method for identifying a catalyst composition for use in the heterogeneous Ziegler-Natta addition polymerization of an olefin monomer, said catalyst composition comprising a procatalyst comprising a magnesium and titanium containing procatalyst and a cocatalyst said method comprising: a) providing a library comprising at least one procatalyst compound, b) forming a catalyst composition library by contacting the member of said procatalyst library with one or more cocatalysts and contacting the resulting mixture with an olefin monomer under olefin polymerization conditions thereby causing the polymerization reaction to take place, c) measuring at least one variable of interest during the polymerization, and d) selecting the catalyst composition of interest by reference to said measured variable.

    The present invention relates to 1-(Azolin-2-yl)-amino-1,2-heterocyclyl-ethane compounds, which are useful for combating insects, arachnids and nematodes. The present invention also relates to methods for combating animal pests and to compositions for combating animal pests. It has been found that animal pests can be combated by 1-(Azolin-2-yl)-amino-1,2-heterocyclyl-ethane compounds of the general formula (I): wherein A is a radical of the formulae A 1 or A 2 : and wherein X is sulfur, oxygen or NR 7 , and Het A , Het B and R 1 to R 7 are defined as in the description.

    A solid, hydrocarbon-insoluble, catalyst component useful in polymerizing olefins, said catalyst component containing magnesium, titanium, and halogen, and further containing an internal electron donor having a structure: [R 1 —O—C(O)—O—] x R 2 wherein R 1 is independently at each occurrence, an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon, or substituted hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; x is 2-4; and R 2 is an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon, or substituted hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, provided that there are from 3 to 4 atoms in the shortest chain connecting a first R 1 —O—C(O)—O— group and a second R 1 —O—C(O)—O— group.
