  Abstract A 15 N NMR study of N -methyl- N -nitroso- N ′-nitroguanidine (MNNG) in solution has allowed its structure to be determined. This is then compared with those of two other nitroguanidines. Electronic delocalisation in MNNG is attempted in connection with trimethylnitroso urea.
